Group 1 winner Le Romain has been allocated the ideal barrier 3 and currently occupies the top line of 2016 Cameron Handicap betting markets at a quote of $3 with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Le Romain experienced something of a meteoric rise to prominence through the recent Autumn Carnival, and has returned to racing this time in typically smart form.

Running second to Spill The Beans in the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) on February 6th, the Hard Spun gelding placed second behind Press Statement in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) before beating the boom colt to the line in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) a fortnight later.

Having run second in each of the Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m) and Group 2 Tramway Stakes (1400m) this time in, Le Romain will be partnered by Christian Reith on Friday and should prove extremely difficult to beat.

Godolphin runner Chetwood is yet to herald much interest in 2016 Cameron Handicap betting markets but remains outright second-favourite at a $3.60 quote.

Third in the Listed Gosford Guineas (1200m) on March 24th, Chetwood trialled well in the lead-up to his spring return and translated that form to the track when he comfortably won the #TheRaces BM72 (1250m) first-up on August 10th.

Having repeated the dose in the TAB Rewards BM78 (1350m) last time out on August 27th, Chetwood may require some luck in running from the outside barrier bit will be partnered by Tim Clark and will only carry 54kgs.

Interestingly figuring as one of only two other runners currently available at 2016 Cameron Handicap odds of less-than $10, His Majesty ($7) will jump from barrier 8 with Brenton Avdulla in the saddle.

His Majesty has finished outside the first three only a handful of times through sixteen career starts; posting an impressive five wins and a further seven minors.

Resuming for success in a Rosehill minor over 1100m on August 13th, the Shamardal gelding ran fifth in the Racing Mates BM85 (1200m) last time out on August 27th; finishing behind fellow Cameron Handicap runner Snoopy ($8.50).
